To the Corner Inlet community,
Manna Gum Community House would like to give a huge thank you to local organisations, community groups and individuals who supported our 2019 Christmas Hamper Appeal.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our local community, receiving toys, homewares, gift cards and cash donated through the Bendigo Bank outlets and directly to our office. We were able to support over 45 local households who are experiencing financial stress, many of whom were families. This is over double the number of people we could help in 2018.
We work only within the local community of Corner Inlet. To increase our reach and best direct our efforts towards the households that needed help, we consulted widely with local schools and services. The households received food, vouchers, essential items and gifts.
Our Emergency Relief service also relies on volunteer support for its administration, and we thank the volunteers who assisted with the organisation and distribution of the hampers. It was a huge job, but a very rewarding one.
Thank you for placing trust in our organisation, and to our partners Toora and Foster Community Bank, the Salvation Army and Foster St Vincent de Paul for their support and collaboration.
